2016 brought a new sense of purpose, a new set of challenges, and a shift in our lives. 2017 promises to do much of the same.
In July of 2016 I had to make a decision - I could move forward with Chipper Nest as a decorating company or I could rest and focus on another growing opportunity of mine, Agnes in August. My heart new the time and effort I was putting into Chipper Nest, while challenging and fruitful at times the time and effort vs payoff wasn't consistent enough. Agnes in August however had momentum and it saw me through a crazy period of growth over the summer and through the Christmas artisan and craft market season.
But stepping away meant and felt like leaving a pet behind and it wasn't sitting well with me even though the time or energy wasn't around to commit to anything Chipper Nest related. The direction of Chipper Nest was unclear and I needed the space to think about it's evolution.
The Chipper Nest will be more of our journey to find lightness in our home. The organizing, the purging, along with the laughter and the adventures. This will become my space to write and reflect - something I let go and miss dearly. It will continue to be about DIY adventures, maybe a One Room Challenge (maybe I will finish the last one I started), it will be about the time I spend with my girls tackling art projects. In short it will become a space to post and reflect on the daily happiness I am embracing in 2017. More importantly it will be REAL. There might be messy rooms, in fact I can guarantee them. Also my daily struggle to keep my island clear of clutter.
As we move into 2017 I will share more about this transformation, it's motivations, and hopefully some inspiration to keep it real in your home too. Reality 101 in our home - messy bedroom floors.
