Swirling, twirling, hopping, dancing. Those are the reactions from my clients when they saw the first coat of paint in their rooms yesterday. Colour speaks to each of us individually so when I'm helping my tiny people with their room designs, making sure they have a say in the colour scheme is super important.
While I might choose a more muted (read boring) colour for the walls and choose to bring in colour via textiles, ultimately it's not my space and I can design around any colour. There are endless fabric, lighting, curtain, bedding, furniture options out there to complement any colour. So if like all other tween girls out there yours wants a teal room (what's with this?) then let's do it!
We owe it to our children to let them lead bold & vibrant lives and their spaces should reflect these tastes & personalities. Empowering our children through the choices they make when we create their space together is just one of the added benefits and bonuses of my job which I really love. Seeing the smiles on their faces is hugely rewarding.
So if your child is asking for bright blue walls, or green, or orange, let's talk and I'll show you how to incorporate this into a well designed space that you can still walk into as a parent and enjoy as you pass down the hall.
