On Thursday hubs and I dropped the girls off for a playdate and we powered through a bunch of ORC related errands. After pricing out chairs and doing some calling around we made the decision to reupholster the existing chair we had. It was my nursing chair – still comfortable, and fit well in the space. We went to an upholsterer whose name I shall not disclose but am hoping that we have made the right decision. His showroom really wasn’t a showroom and the books were in such a jumble it took much longer than anticipated to find fabric and order. But having an idea of what I wanted and having hubs’ eyes to help out made all the difference to expediting the process. Now let’s hope it gets done in time! (He has assured me it will). The before pic of the chair is in the photo below.
Then it was onto some wood. I saw on IG that Lynn from Pocketful of Paint did a side table for her #easyfridaydiy. I wanted to achieve a similar look. The cedar shop was having a sale and we scored an 8’ piece of 6”x6” we will cut and glue to make a solid square table with a rustic look. Then a trip to Home Depot to pick up some 2x4’s to build out the false wall. A few laughs later and some ‘quality’ kid free time we were on our way to getting this room done.
The colour is Abalone by Benjamin Moore.
I'm really eager to move past the construction/painting phase and ready to give some DIY love to this space. Aaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnndddddddddd back to work.
